Privacy

In short

This website has no customer accounts and sets no advertising cookies. It lets you track your parcels: to do this, Clovis Cargo records your shipment details when you drop off your goods. The only cookies are login cookies in the staff area. The Clovis Cargo mobile app does use an account linked to your number: see the “Mobile app” section below.

Parcel tracking

Data recorded by Clovis Cargo for each shipment: the name or mark given at drop-off, phone number, parcel number, description, quantity and volume, plus the container and its stages. They are used to organise the shipment and let you track your parcels.

To see your parcels, you must enter your number AND the container reference. Only the parcels linked to that number in that container are shown, with no names. Searches are limited to prevent abuse: for 2 days we keep an encrypted fingerprint (not readable) of the IP address and number entered, never the plain values.

This data is hosted by Supabase (database) and accessible only to authorised Clovis Cargo staff and to RELO Enterprises for maintenance. Retention period: customer lines (name, number, goods) are deleted automatically 3 months after the container is ready for collection. The container's own details (reference, dates, stages) are kept.

WhatsApp

The WhatsApp buttons and the rate request form open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. Nothing is sent until you press Send in WhatsApp. Your conversation is then processed by WhatsApp (Meta) and by Clovis Cargo to answer your request.

Analytics

We measure site traffic with Vercel Web Analytics, without cookies and without identifying visitors: only aggregate statistics are kept (pages viewed, country, device type, referring site). For parcel tracking, we also count the number of searches per day (successful or not), without keeping the number entered.

Hosting and technical logs

The host (Vercel) may keep technical logs (IP address, date, page requested) for security and to run the service.

Mobile app

Sign-in: you enter your phone number and receive a one-time code, sent by SMS or WhatsApp through our messaging providers (Twilio, Meta). A code is only sent to numbers that appear on a Clovis Cargo packing list. To prevent abuse, we keep an encrypted fingerprint (not readable) of the requested number for 2 days. An account whose code was never confirmed is deleted after 1 day.

What the app shows: your parcels and containers, from the tracking data described above. What we also keep for your account: the nicknames you give your containers, your alert settings, the notification token of each signed-in phone, and the announcements sent by Clovis Cargo.

Notifications: they go through Expo’s notification service, then Apple or Google, and tell you a container’s stage or an announcement. You choose which ones you get in Account.

On your phone only: your session (in the phone’s secure storage) and the last information shown, so you can see your parcels without signal; they are erased when you log out. If you add an arrival date to your calendar, or send photos with a price request, this happens on your phone and in WhatsApp: neither your calendar nor those photos are sent to our servers.

Container photos: Clovis Cargo staff may add photos of a container; they are visible to customers who have parcels in that container and deleted together with the customer lines, 3 months after collection. The app contains no advertising and no analytics tools.

Delete your app account

In the app: Account → “Delete my account”, then hold the button. Your login, container nicknames, alert settings and notification tokens are deleted from our servers immediately.

Without the app: ask for deletion at contact@clovis-cargo.com or on WhatsApp at +237 699 777 349, from the number concerned. Packing lists stay with Clovis Cargo for shipping and are deleted automatically 3 months after collection.

Your rights

For any question about your data, or to request access or deletion, contact Clovis Cargo: contact@clovis-cargo.com or WhatsApp +237 699 777 349.
